Since 1997, BurJuman's Safe & Sound has reached over 25 million people in our sustained effort to spread this life saving message that 'Survival of Breast Cancer can be greatly increased via early detection and treatment'.

 

To date, BurJuman's initiative has raised more than AED 2.5 million through fundraising events and donations. The funds generated go towards generating further awareness and supporting patient care.

 

We continue to work hard at spreading awareness through a range of UAE wide initiatives.

The flagship event is the BurJuman Pink Walkathon. Held on the 31st October 2014 and now in it's 10th edition, all supporters will take an important step for Cancer Awareness by walking the 2KM course at Dubai's Zabeel Park (dressed in Pink of course!)  Other initiatives include the BurJuman Pink Book Sale (held at BurJuman on 17th October 10am - 10PM). Book lovers can choose from thousands of donated favourite titles for as little as AED 5, and the proceeds go towards supporting the cause.

 

Finally, visit the BurJuman Pink Lounge (open from 1st Oct - 31st Oct) at BurJuman. A place where supporters can kick back, relax but most importantly show their support by purchasing a pink ribbon and leaving a personalised message on the Pledge Wall.

PREVENT

 

The BurJuman Safe & Sound awareness campaign reinforces the importance of early diagnosis through sustained awareness efforts and offering 10,000 free clinical check-ups through our medical partner, uniCare Medical Centre.

 

Additionally, BurJuman and uniCare are providing mammograms at a discounted rate of only AED 200 during the month of October. Because "Early Detection Helps Save Lives", it's essential to spread this key message of prevention about the 3 necessary steps to follow to beat breast cancer.
